Tim was the Director of Equine Science & Welfare for the BHA between 2008 and 2013. He was the founding Chair of the IFHA’s Horse Welfare Committee from 2010 to 2013. He has been a non-executive member of the UK Government’s Animal Health and Welfare Board since 2011. He chaired the British Horse Industry Confederation between 2008 and 2011. He has been a Trustee of the British Horse Society since 2019.

Internationally he has provided expert advice on anti-doping for the Saudi Cup, to the Givernment of Mauritius, the Irish Greyhound Board as well as the IFHA and the FEI. Tim is a qualified vet and the author of 44 peer reviewed publications and presenter at over 130 events worldwide. Prior to joining the BHA he was a Director of GSK dealing with Animal Ethics and Welfare.
