Nick held senior positions in the leisure industry before becoming Chief Executive of the British Horseracing Authority (the regulator and governing body for Horseracing in Great Britain) from 2015 until January 2021. During his time in the role, Nick led efforts to deliver regulatory reform, improved central funding and improved standards of equine welfare. He played an active role at international level, working with colleagues from the United States, France, Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong and UAE to deliver improvements in international policy for Horseracing.
Nick is a Trustee of the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Chair of the Starting Price Regulatory Commission.
